30 in 30

I’ve just turned 30 (gasp!) few weeks ago. And kinda inspired to pen down 30 things I’ve learned in 30 years:

1) It doesn’t matter what people think of you, it only matter what you think of yourself.

2) You can choose your friends.

You will become the people you associate with most of the time.

3) Gratitude is the key to happiness.

Not money.

4) Being rich is the state of mind, not the state of your possession.

5) You never fail if you never give up.

6) Always go green.

Being environmental-friendly never go out of trend.

7) It’s okay to say you are not okay.

Depression is not a joke.

8) Forgive everyone, everything. Now.

9) Reality is not what’s happening in the world. Reality is how you perceive the world.

10) Sometimes, things don’t go as you want. Learn to accept that.

11) There is no soul mate.

The one you choose is your Mr. Right.

12) Always brush your teeth and use mouthwash.

Or you’ll start having gum and teeth problem (I’m serious).

13) Life purpose can only be found in God.

14) Choose to be enthusiastic every day. Because the key to a fulfilling day or life is to manage your energy, not time.

15) Always do what you are afraid to do – Ralph Waldo Emerson.

Because behind those fear is what you’ve always wanted to do.

16) You can’t ask God to grant you courage. Courage is a choice, to do what is needed despite the fear.

17) You will eventually get good at something if you keep doing it. Even bad habits.

18) Life is our greatest teacher.

19) Love people, use things. Because the opposite never works.

20)Greatest investment is life is people. You and those around you.

Not that stock market.

21)Your past or childhood may have shaped you, but you can shape your future.

22) Don’t get into debt.

23) Start eating right and getting fit NOW.

24)The age to start using anti-aging eye cream is 25.

25) Sunscreen does not only help prevent skin cancer, but also premature aging skin.

So apply it early.

26) It’s important to have life goals and pursuing it, but don’t forget to savor the moment (process) because tomorrow we might be dead.

“Life is what happens while you’re busy making other plans” –John Lennon.

27) It’s okay not knowing something. Be humble.

You’re still learning even when you’re 30, 40, or 70.

28) Keep a dairy.

Read it and you’ll be amazed how much you’ve grown.

29) Be kind and don’t be stingy in giving others compliments.

30) Walk and sit straight.

Good posture will save you from back-ache, neck-ache…basically you.
